Summer Student Success

This summer, the Message Laboratory celebrates the success of our talented students!

In May, MSU graduate Alicia Brown presented the results of her honors thesis at the International Communication Association 71st Annual Conference. Her paper was titled “Changing the minds of climate change deniers: Effects of message theme and source.”

This month, two current undergraduate researchers, Provost Scholars Sarah Dulaney and Rachel Adair, presented their research at the Mississippi State University Undergraduate Research Symposium. Sarah’s poster, co-authored with MSU graduate and Message Lab alumna Hasna Khandekar, was titled “Thematic analysis of vaccine misinformation in social media.” Sarah placed 1st in the Social Sciences division out of 13 entries. Rachel’s poster was titled “Relationship between linguistic characteristics of HappyHealthy Facebook posts and user engagement.”
