Message Laboratory Receives Research Funding
The Message Laboratory has been actively pursuing external funding to support our research activities. Over the past year we’ve received the following awards:
- Dr. Holli Seitz received a grant from the MSU College of Arts and Sciences Henry Family Research Fund for Excellence to expand the Message Laboratory at the SSRC and launch a new research project investigating the effects of vaccine misinformation in social media.
- Dr. Seitz also received funding from the MSU Office of Research and Economic Development for an undergraduate research program titled “Advancing Undergraduate Research in Communication Science.” This funding will allow her to provide research experiences in the Message Laboratory for two undergraduate students in 2017-2018 academic year.
- Marisa Laudadio received the 2017 Shackouls Honors College Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship for undergraduate research pertaining to social and environmental change. Marisa’s research specifically focused on determining whether or not public opinion can be ascertained via social media and identifying current public opinion regarding international adoption.
